Currently the highest priced treadmill from the Nordictrack lineup is the Nordictrack 8600. From the Nordictrack website: "The 8600 boasts commercial-grade features like an incredibly powerful 5.0 CHP commercial-grade motor, Power Incline® up to 15% and a long, 60-inch treadbelt." Besides that they don't have much too say about the 8600 other than it comes with max 12 miles per hour speed, pulse sensor, club console, 20x60 inch tread belt, and ifit compatibility. Let's take a jaunt around the web and see what we come up with.

The Treadmill Doctor has a review of the Nordictrack 8600 giving it an overall rating of "good". The doctor favors the 8600's solid construction, power, and value. However they don't like the nordictrack 8600's weight and warranty. In conclusion this treadmill review of the Nordictrack 8600 says "The main fasteners rusted on our test model in no time but otherwise, it has held up great for 2 years in a high use setting!"

Treadmilltips has a review of the Nordictrack 8600. They like the 8600 in it's class of commercial treadmills, however doesn't think it's one of Nordictrack's best efforts. They go onto review some of the 8600's features and note one of the weaknesses of the 8600 is the weight of the treadmill, making it difficult to move for home use. In conclusion TreadmillTips recommends the 8600 for those in the market for a commercial treadmill. They also offer an alternative to the 8600 to save yourself a few hundred dollars.

At the Runner's World magazine website they have a Treadmill Buyers Guide from 2002 which has the NordicTrack 8600 ranked #2 out of 12 treadmills. You are going to need to scroll way down the page to find the info on the 8600. They note that the 8600 requires a 20-amp electrical circuit and also say "The 8600 is built like a tank, with a massive display console and the heaviest frame of any treadmill we tested. This makes it very stable, but some testers felt it was large for home use. The control buttons are large and easy to use, including a row of "one-touch" speed buttons that take you directly to your selected speed. A unique "i-Fit" feature lets you run interactive workouts from CDs and videos."

There are a few top treadmill lists over at About.com that are worth a visit if you're treadmill shopping. From the "Top 7 Quality Home Treadmills" you will find that the Nordictrack 8600 comes in at #4. The review had this to say about the Nordictrack 8600 "Given top points by Runners World magazine. The drawback - it requires a 20-amp electrical circuit. The i-Fit feature lets you run interactive workouts from CDs and videos. 3.2 HP continuous duty motor. 10 preset workouts, three heart-rate controlled (provide own chest strap)." Looks like a discrepency between this list and the manufacturer's site on the HP of the motor.
